Black History Month Celebration

This month we pay tribute to all of our ancestors and Black Africans Americans from the past and present that have fought to make a more perfect union, showcasing their gifts, talents, inventions their activist for community striving to keep us current in our struggle for peace and equality for all of us. We also celebrate their many contributions to this our great nation. Black History Month Beginnings A Century Celebration of Black Life, History and Culture. This celebration all started in 1926 as part of an initiative by writer and educator Dr. Carter G. Woodson who launched Negro History Week in 1926. Dr. Woodson decided to launch this celebration of our achievements between the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. Since it's inception in 1976, every American president has proclaimed February as Black History Month. Let's Not Stop There! There is a serious need for our children to Know Thy Self and it has a lot to do with self image in how they see themselves regardless of what the world says about them. Let's educate ourselves because most educational institutions will not inform you of the contributions that has been made in your behalf. I've seen many try to pick fun of our time of learning our heritage and it's important for us as a Black People to rise up, wake up and learn more about our ancestors even before slavery. You are descendants of Kings and Queens you have a royal lineage and its time that you should know exactly who you really are.
